MCRT® 87000V Torque Transducers output shaft torque with 0.01% resolution. Digital, Analog and FM formats are simultaneously available. Industries highest overload and overrange ratings assure safety and accuracy even when the driveline has high peak to average torque ratios. Important features include non-critical installation, temperature data, max/min capture and absence of manual adjustments. Range, scaling, calibration and null data are stored in rotor nonvolatile memory and transferred to the stator during startup. That assures accuracy, without re-calibration, if rotors and stators are replaced or intermixed. Bi-polar, rotor shunt cal can be enabled with stator switches, logic I/O or, via the Com Port. Choose from ten units of measure without re-calibrating. When you re-calibrate, earlier calibrations are archived. Eleven selectable Bessel data filters avoid overshoot errors and delay distortion. Multiple bridges sense torque and provide immunity to extraneous loads. The radial torque path yields short length, unsurpassed torsional stiffness and deflection resulting in the highest installed system response. The torquemeter attaches to your drive without an additional coupling. The result is low overhung moment, short length and minimal installed space. Himmelstein has made similar, radial path sensors for decades including automotive torque wheels, pulley torquemeters and chassis roll torque sensors. The sensors’ output is digitized on the rotor and then sent to the stator where analog, frequency and Com Port outputs are created. Choose RS232, RS422, or RS485 communications. Included software interfaces with your Windows-based PC. It displays real time data, does time plots and stores test results. Password protection may be invoked. The MCRT® 79700V Series of Dual Range Digital Torque Transducers will accurately measure low running and high load torque without the cost and inconvenience of swapping two or more conventional torque sensors. Another important application is measuring torque when the ratio of peak torque to average torque is high. In that situation, a conventional torquemeter must be oversized to avoid damage – a process which greatly reduces accuracy. Conditions that create high peak to average ratios include starting, stopping or reversing inertial loads, torsional oscillations, and diesel and single cylinder engine/compressor drives. Additionally, when peak torques are unknown, an MCRT® 79700V reduces the risk of damage from unexpected or accidental torque spikes. These Dual Range Torquemeters have a LOW range that is 20% of its' HIGH range. Three simultaneous analog outputs can be individually set to 5 or 10 volts at each range full scale. Overrange is 150% to 300% and mechanical overload is 200% of the HIGH range and 1,000% of the LOW range. Digital output of torque, and speed and power with option Z, is available over the resident RS232 serial port. Included software interfaces with Windows based PC's for data display and collection as well as instrument setup. Each range is calibrated in our accredited laboratory and documented by a NVLAP approved calibration certificate certifying NIST traceability and documenting our laboratory operation and our quality management system meets ISO/IEC 17025-2005. These Compact Digital Torque Transducers have high accuracy, low noise, high overload capacity, high overrange, inherent noise tolerance and a wide temperature range. Strain gage sensing and non-contact signal transfer make them well suited for control, laboratory and production use. They are offered in two accuracy grades, Code N standard performance and Code C enhanced performance. Installation can be either floating or foot mounted with the integral mounting base.
